It amazing the people u meet as u are going through ur journey as a mom wth a child that has CHD.. My walk has been amazing 7 and 1/2 years and when i believe i have learned all i could learn God sends someone else across my path. Treshawn had is surgery last Wednesday at the Cleveland Clinic. When we arrived i meet this mother of a 5 year old little girl who had surgery nine days earlier. This little girls smile could brighten up the whole room. She was very nice and so was her mother.. Her mom said this was her fourth surgery and this was the shortest stay she had ever had in her life in the hospitial. Latter on she came down to the waiting room where were at to give me a hug good bye.
It the look in our eyes and the love we have that is like an understanding between heart mom. Sometime u don t have to say a word but just look at each other and understand more then words can explain. Also on this journey i meet another mother whose child had been there for 2 months and she had almost lost him twice.. To a point where the doc told her to hurry up and come and say r goodbyes. Wow. Me and her talked for about an hour while tre was having his surgery. We talked about God and how good he is. She has a journey a head of her beacuse her son can not eat right know and he was leaveing that day to theraphy..
For Tre his surgery was 4 1/2 hours and he was intensive care for 20 hours and then we moved to the step down unit. His surgery went really well he had his pulmnary valve replaced and his artery open up. The whole time i prayed that my son would be home on Saturday of that week. He came home saturday 4 days after his open heart surgery. He did amazing. He was smiling and playing his Ds the next day after surgery as he told everyone he would be .. He is home on some meds but should be off of all of them in next few weeks except for asprin. Which he has to take for 3 months. He is at home with a smile on his face and laughing and that all i asked for for christmas....
The day i left i meet this amzing 8 year old little boy. He is need of a heart transplant and has been in the hospitial for 10 months. He is using a machine that is acting as his heart right know untill he can get a new heart. This little boy had such a big smile on his face. He is on this machine 23 hours a day and only off of it for 30 minutes every 6 hours. When he is off it u can see him dancing to Micheal Jackson..... He made me smile so much... he seen me with my baby and asked could i bring him in so he could hold him. I said yes. He was unable to hold him but i was able to place him in his lap for a few minutes which made Him smile from ear to ear. My son jayvon touched someone at 2 months and he didn t even realize it. I pray this little boy gets a heart soon so he can go home and play...
I will close with this thank u all for so many prayers for my son and thank u for opening my eyes each an everyday. Life as a chd mom is like a rollercoaster but i would never trade it in because i know that God will walk me through each and every moment and carry at the times i need to be carried...
